Chapter 7 development is done! Yippee! We had some major hurdles to overcome for this release, but we finally pushed through and got it over the finish line.

We’re currently in the beta-testing phase. Beta-testing privileges are usually reserved for higher-level supporters on Patreon or SubscribeStar. None so far have requested to test.

Alex is heartbroken!

This release’s testing is particularly important, due to the large-scale behind-the-scenes changes that were made to the source code. We won’t kid anyone–testing this release will take some time, and we understand that not all people have the time or inclination to do anything other than just play Confusion once it’s released. But your help (and support) are important at this stage as we prepare for the last three chapters.

Please don’t look at this as just a way to get early access to a new version of the story. There will probably be serious bugs! There will be real work involved–we genuinely need for testers to make different choices and try different paths, to ensure that the logic behind your decisions continues to make sense later on in the story.

Since for this release (and this release only, hopefully) we’ve had to force a restart of the game, you’ll get a chance to see sides of the story you might not have encountered before. We encourage you to make weird choices, to see if the balance of the restructured points system makes sense. We didn’t go so far as to allow you to do anything at any time–if you play as a milquetoast for the entire game, you still shouldn’t count on being able to be a superhero at the end.

The usual testing avenues apply: grammar, graphics consistency, and story presentation are all up for review.
