The Story
Confusion is the story of a transgender girl with a problem. Alex has few friends, a lot of enemies, and even her foster family disrespects her. How will she learn to cope? Should she leave? Should she finish transitioning? Should she learn to fight back against those who would mean her harm? Will she ever love or be loved in return? End her confusion...

- Features additional new music
- Continued improvement of underlying code
- Continued image updates and UI refinement
Developer notes:
- If you haven't tried it yet, please consider playing using auto-advance! That's the way the story was developed and how it was staged! The cinematic nature of the storytelling lends itself well to this type of interaction. You can always adjust the advance speed in Preferences, or click or press space/return to advance if the pauses are too long for your liking.
NOTE
Confusion is a drama. It is an emotional tale that endeavors to be true-to-life. Unfortunately, when it comes to transgender individuals, in the real world, that life tends to be dramatic. Scary. Abusive. Confusion tells a story, which will hopefully increase your awareness of the threats of today's world when it comes to people who just want to be true to who they are. No one should have to hide who they are or who they love, just because some random people disagree with it. Transgender inviduals experience love, sex, and sexuality just like everybody else. Just be warned that while Confusion strives to be erotic in its approach to sex, it is not a fap-fest. It is not a tale designed simply to move you from one sex scene to the next. Consider yourself warned.

I audibly said NOOOO when it said to save because I reached the end of Chapter 9 and had to wait for 10, so you know this story is good. Its so good
Any chance anyone knows where to find a taboo patch for the game? Or anything similar to tha
Great update really loved the transformation with the shorter hair and the pink dress and the behavior
A suggestion that Alex finds out that alteast it was Brad who took the photos somehow and that she make him get a taste of his own medicine
Like it happened with Zoey or soemthing similar if you Choose being Evil. Looking forward to upcoming update
Good Luck
Nice to see an update... Bought this game last year, so I am glad it's still moving forward. I think there's enough of the game now for a Steam and GOG release under "early access", where I think it will sell like crazy!
waiting very impatiently for next chapter… the ending of chapter 7 shocked me. I need to know what happens next
Question: is it Glenn or Sam that see Alex? I couldn’t tell
It was Glenn. Hilarity ensues. 🤨
I hope Glenn is drunk…
What's new in this update nvm I just rade it no need to tell me
I'm not very far in and it's already breaking my heart the way Elliot treats Alex. (;﹏;) And Glenn not standing up for her doesn't help...
It make take me a while to get through this one...
Thanks for playing. ❤️ Everyone will get what they deserved before the end of the story. Both good, and bad…
Bravo! Just bravo! The development between this version and the previous is outstanding, the story engaging and the character are believable. Tender, traumatic and engaging, just brilliant
I've enjoyed playing Confusion so far. It has a compelling storyline with interesting characters. The ending of chapter was seriously messed up and made me angry, but I'm looking forward to continuing Alex's story. The way the game has played out so far has me concerned about the final ending. It's a shame that we won't get to see more adventures of Alex and Chris. I definitely would love to see more of these 2 characters in another game.
Thanks for your comments. I know chapter 6’s ending was rough, but it sets up Alex’s path for the rest of the story. I tried my best to warn people that it was coming, but it’s still hard to visualize until you actually see it. You can only have true highs once you experience some true lows as well, right? The main issue is that it’ll be another 3 to 4 months until the next chapter releases, so try not to let your imagination run wild. Rest assured that everyone involved will get what’s coming to them, more or less, by the time things wrap up in the final chapter.
I have just watched the scene of Alex and Chris, after both got dumped by their partners. Have to say, one of the most tender love scenes I have scene in any AVN, bar none. So please find a way to write another chapter somewhere in the story you've written, and make the game a little longer. It's just too good!
I can't subscribe to your SubscribeStar account because you have accepted their advice to limit the amount of SS accounts I can simultaneously support.
I’ve disabled the filter. You should be good to go, and thanks for your support!
I have just started playing chapter 5, and the game has got more serious! I think your very brave to write this game, and think the subtle way you are showing us why characters are the way they are is superlative! Well done, Sir! This is a game for the Ages...!
Hate to say it, but things will get even more “serious” as time goes on. This isn’t a romance. Everybody has a breaking point… 🙂
It's why this game needs to be known.....
And do you intend to lengthen the chapters? There was another game I played that followed this chapter schedule and it seemed like when I moved on to the next chapter it was a little longer than the last one, so I was wondering if you would follow that schedule too AVNSax.
Thanks for your questions.
I’m aiming for 8 to 10 weeks of development time per chapter. Depending on what else is going on in my life, it might stretch to 12 weeks on occasion. Confusion was always meant to be a short story, not a never-ending, open-ended cash grab like many other VNs. I’m constantly amazed by the number of VNs I’ve played where the author seemingly just makes it up as they go along. Or they write their “story” to simply maximize the number of fetishized H-scenes they can present. I finished writing my script almost a year ago, so the lead time per chapter is just creating and rendering the models. I know what’s going to happen and how the story will end.
I tell people this is a visual “novella” instead of a “novel.” The chapters are about an hour long if you take the time to read the individual screens. And it is definitely not meant to be a fap-and-run adventure. Many of those are available here if that’s one’s predisposition.
Another factor is the visual style. I’ve always wanted the visuals to be cinematic in scope instead of simple sprites or static screens spread over tens of lines of dialog each. One VN I recently played featured black screens for a lot of its dialogue, as though the author either couldn’t figure out how to present the visuals or just couldn’t be bothered. Chapter 3, as short as it might seem, required 1,299 renders alone, more than many VNs need for their entire length.
All that said, the first three chapters were expository in nature. Chapter 4 (which I’m working on now) is slightly longer than the preceding ones and coincidentally includes the longest scene in the entire VN. But the remaining chapters are all about the same length except for the final two, where all of the story’s threads are wrapped up (along with several different endings).
I hope I answered your questions!
Not sure what you mean. If you mean more stories using the Confusion characters, then no. It’s hard to explain why except that the ending would make that really difficult. After Confusion, I’m planning a short comedy piece, essentially a parody of visual novel tropes. After that, it’ll have been at least 18 months and what I work on after that is kinda up in the air.
I agree totally with you. I have said elsewhere, this is an important story to finish, and put on Steam and GOG. I doubt there ever be another AVN, where the MC is transgender! That's why this game needs to be known by many people!
How often does a new update come out AVNSax? I'm excited, but I know it takes time so instead of asking when it's going to come out I'd like to know, more or less how often under normal conditions they are released.
Hello! Is it compatible with Apple M1? I've tried to launch ch3 but it's instantly stopped
Um, I believe so. I only have Intel Macs to test with, but I don’t see any reason why it shouldn’t work on M1 unless the Python interpreter is somehow having issues. Have you tried running it with Rosetta? I’ll ask around and see if anyone knows of any obvious issues.
Can you send me the log.txt and traceback.txt files so I can investigate this further? Thanks.
This is probably a case of “too little, too late,” but the VN should run fine using Rosetta, according to Ren’Py’s author. The next version of Ren’Py will feature native M1 (ARM) support–so the next release of Confusion should run natively then.

Try it now. Seems somehow the server configuration got borked. It should work now.
