A mixed fortnight when it came to productivity. There was a hospitalization and death in the family of Snax’s closest friend. On top of that, Daz Studio crashed early this past week, requiring a complete reinstallation of the app and the hundreds of assets needed to render Confusion’s images. Some past scenes are refusing to load without a lot of handholding (“I can’t find blah-blah resource, look for it?”, “More than one version of yadi-yada resource, which to use?”, etc.) but luckily we don’t need to do this often as we’re mostly working on new renders. It’s been a big PITA though.

We still haven’t gotten around to the server upgrade. There are a lot of reasons for this, but primarily looking forward to the future to upgrades that we thought we could put off for a while. (Fast) disk space is at a premium at the moment which requires either juggling assets, or selecting older assets to delete. We won’t bore you with the details, but it was suggested that a more powerful motherboard is needed so it’s on order.

The current workflow involves a couple of intricate animations, which coincidentally is where the Daz crash occurred. They will take the bulk of the coming week in order to complete the current scene. The next couple of scenes are a lot easier to pull off, which will be a relief!
